Everyone wants to be loved

Contributed by Archie on Friday, 7th May 2004 @ 03:20:50 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Every one wants to be loved:
every child, every mother, every sister, every brother,
every father, every worker, every technical usurper, every one that is religious,
even those who are malicious,
from the person with the power
to the eloquent wall flower,
every scholar, every cobbler,
even the imfamous dowager,
from the magician to the queen
and all those in between
those who're born
and those who die
and those who are yet to arrive
even those I have not named
they're no more to be disdained;
don't you get it, can't you see
love is meant for you and me.
"What about him on death row?"
Haven't you heard me don't you know.
I guess you do not get it yet
or you easily forget.
Just like light gone through a prism,
you break up your altruism.
Lost in pain and emnity
even I lose clarity
Just like Lot's wife looking back
a stone cold heart turns me pitch black
an animal I have become
full of hatred and gruesome.
I cut myself with dangerous words
I get so easily perturbed.
With out looking up
do you remember
the title of my simple letter;
if you can't
then you can see
complexity easily deceives.

Yes, I did, it is that everyone wants to be loved. Actually everyone needs to be loved to survive and be happy, I think. It is a necessary component to our psyches. Even though we might pull away sometimes, we are all seeking love and understanding from our friends and family and world.

You gotta love being loved.. :-) What is Life without Love? The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return...

Archie,
Loved the flow of your words, I loved the line:
"Just like the light gone through a prism"
that love and light is never distorted, but projected outward.

Blessings

This flows with a smoothness that is profound.

As Benjamin Frankin once said.

If you would be loved....love and be lovable. June

Archie-
such a true and honest message in your poem. The lack of love has caused many a dreadful day, and life. I loved the style in which you wrote your piece to give example to complexity and how easy it is to lose track of what's important. Your message is strong and expressed brilliantly.
