For Mothers!

Contributed by lowman613 on Thursday, 6th May 2004 @ 10:06:53 PM in AEST
Topic: MothersDayPoems

All the mothers out there in the world,
are celebrating Mothers Day,
with their boy or little girl,
share this on the 9th of May,
But there are some Mothers who cant be here,
Some who are gone,
or some mothers dont have their children near,
because something has gone wrong,
Mothers day can be a happy time,
but for some a sad one too,
I know I wish I had mine,
If my children only knew,
all those times theyve been mad at me,
for telling them what NOT to do,
but my mom I wish I could still see,
and to hear her voice too,
And then I look at my childrens eyes,
and my mom is what I see,
it helps to heal all the whys,
the way she use to be,
So many mothers, loose a child or two,
& dont get a card or a call,
so its hard for them to get through,
the memories on the wall!

It is so sad that we don't truly appreciate our Mother's until we have children ourselves and see firsthand what they had to go through. All the long nights with the sick children, the budgeting, the carpooling, the worry and finding time for the needed hugs and kisses on demand. This world could not survive without them.

Beautiful and touching. Mother's day can be so emotional whether we have moms here or not, whether we've lost children or have them.... it is us mothers who truly need a lift on the one fine day chosen for them. Many blessings to you this mothers day......
Excellent write!

Oh Christina, what a touching write. My Mother was very mean, but she was the only Mom I had. I can remember many a Mother's Day when I would go out of my way to make her something or give her a gift. One year it was a family portrait of me and my three little kids. She sent it back and said it was much too big for her to hang on her wall. So on Mother's day now that she is dead, I'm always thankful to have had a Mother.....but I'm also glad she is no longer alive.
That sounds brutal I know......I loved her so, but it was for naught.......she hated me all my life........and was never afraid to show
just how much!
But I know your Mother was wonderful and I'm so sorry she is not here for this your special day.......but I loved the way you transfered all the sadness to your children's eyes.......she's there all right.....and always will be!
loving poem

Christina, I know this comment is late. This was a very nice write. I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. She lives in you Christina. She will always be in your heart. *hugs* *S* Cynthia
