Through My Father's Eyes

Contributed by Spell_Weaver on Thursday, 6th May 2004 @ 06:40:56 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

There's a woman in me who cries to the world,
Yet the father still sees his little girl.
He thinks there's a child who's taking on life.
But inside is a woman who's holding on tight
To the bit of strength she has left in her heart.
His ignorance and insults are leaving deep scars.
I once cried ot heaven, but they didn't yell back...
Now it's belief that I seem to lack.
He hurts me, and I say nothing in return.
My anger is boiling so strongly, it burns.
Why does he yell at me again and again?
I must be bad if I can't see the end.
It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is knowing whatever goes wrong, I get blamed.
He tells me to stand up, then beats me down.
My heart stops beating as I fall to the ground.
Death, it seems, would be my only escape...
Then he says "Luv ya Punkin'", so I guess I'll wait.
I don't understand, my mind's going dark.
He's so loud, it makes the dogs bark.
Maybe he'll learn there's a woman in me...
No. If he's blind, he cannot see.

I am so sorry you life is like this. It is very traumatic to have to live like that. I don't know how old you are but there will be a day you will not be under his roof and then maybe things will change between you too. I wish you the best.

Rita
