I told you so
I wish I hadn't
Predicted today
You decided
To turn away
And run to another guy
Deceived by him
You fed into his lies
Finally after some time
And too many tears
You finally realize
He's fake
He just wanted your body
To get what he could take
At the same time
He played you
To see what he could make
Who coulda ever guessed
Who you'd turn to
When the world didn't treat you
Like it should do
You came running to me
Singing your sad song
About how he stole your heart
And now you don't know
Where it belongs
When will you see
You did
The same thing to me
But what now
Look at me
I'm the one that's here
I'm the one that truly cares
I'm the one dealing with your tears
You say you care'
And all of that
Then why
A few weeks ago
Remember that…
But I'm the one that's here
But you keep looking past me
To a bigger hill
And a brighter sky
It’ll be funny
When you realize
You let my love
Pass you by
You had your chance
You took your shot
To bad
You kept your heart
On the lock
I feel bad to know
That I knew
This would happen
Cause I saw through his lies
And all he was lacking
I feel bad to say these things
But I knew
I could love you better
It’s hard not to care
When I’m the one
That’s sitting here
You say
You’ve been in love
And lost
I say
You’ve been loved
And
Just let it rot
If I was taller
Or cuter
You’d fall into my arms
But I’m not
You’re a pigeon
So sound the alarm
I can’t handle
Living my life
Around your beckoning call
I put my heart in your hands
And I lost it all
But I’m still the one that’s here
And you don’t even care
I’m still the one that’s here
Why ain’t life fair
You act like
This is commonplace
Didn’t you listen
When I told you
You were the first girl
I valued for more than
A face
Forget life
And everything in it
I wish that it
Didn’t continue
And that I was through with it
You’ve made some mistakes
And you wanna change
But everything you do
Goes against that grain
You always fall
For a certain type of guy
You always get hurt
And ask yourself why
Maybe you should change
Your selection process
Maybe you should
Look past the surface
Reevaluate your criteria
And start looking within
You lead a guy on
And then just wanna be friends
Then fall for a prick
That’s into using chicks
But guess what…
I’m the one that’s here
And you don’t even care
I’m the one that’s here
Not the one laughing over there
Ain’t it funny how
History repeats
I’ll never fall for another girl
As long as I can stand
On my own two feet
Maybe it’ll help
When you realize
Your decisions
Affect somebody else
Maybe two lives
Will straighten out
When you start taking
Care of yourself
Cause here’s what happens
You start
Longing for love
Waiting
And getting denied
Changing over time
Perverted
Into lust of the flesh
Burning deep down
The struggle
Consuming myself
Depression
Staying so long
It’s harmful to my health
True love
That’s genuine
Lust
That’s imitation
Heartbreak
It can effect
Anyone
But through all of that
I’m the one that’s here
I’m the one living through
My greatest fear
I’m the one that’s here
All because
Despite the pain
I still hold you dear

I've been pretty close to this generality. I enjoyed the poem alot.
Nicely done.
Don't let someone like that ruin nor run your life though.
They are not worth it.

| damn man, truly amazing to me. this poem is how I feel totally. I have the exact same situation going on. exactlly.... sad how life is. I really love your poems but this is by far my favorite. WOW! |
