Impressionism

Left with colorful reminders, our words cling to each other
Scraps of feeling flutter with every breath, reminiscent of kisses
Memories alter the tableau of lovers hanging in the heart's gallery
What I thought was love, I found out was not
Scoured the beach for a perfect rock to take home
Touchstone, call you when my soul is hungry for company
Sun on the edge of a wing sliced through the clouds
I saw a way out - followed the light across the sky
Landed on the horizon like a bird on the wire
My pockets full of paper and sea glass gems
I lost my shoes in the Mediterranean walking on air
Details blurred into background, I became silhouetted against your heart
Impression of what you wanted but could not have
Caught between truth and fantasy, forever smiling in your direction

awesome.
such good strong imagery.

i was reading it and having all these pictured in my mind then i finished it and found myself grinning this huge grin and i thought to myself..."what on earth?why the hell am i grining at the computer screen?" and then i realised it was the poem itself...

wow
ok i've blabbed enough now...
great poem..

13 year old chatterbox,
katie

Talk about an emotional hiccup! I am almost in tears. This is beyond moving. So many incredibly beautiful images. What you do with words!
