a desolate dedication

Contributed by reprobate on Wednesday, 5th May 2004 @ 11:14:59 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

The house is a wreck, so's the yard
And keeping them straight is truly so hard
Half a family here, have a new life
In this home, without a mother, without a wife

Memories, just shadows fading with the paint
Tears, dried in time, misery's a past complaint
Empty breezes wither in this hole
This house, the home without a soul

Sugared flakes are spilt on the kitchen floor
And my cup of coffee is warm no more
Past-due envelopes in careless piles here and there
Our world now, as if you'd care

No reason given, to leave, was ever real
The sadness behind her, she can't or won't feel
Still, I wish for her only happiness
That she never know this pain, the emptiness

My heart isn't in this, if you didn't know
Shattered when love made the decision to go
My eyes have dried and living is hard
The house is a wreck and so's the yard

Another one to make the tears fall. You have captured the feelings of loneliness and depression so well. I'm trying to take my pain, and go with it. Cut the grass, use the sickle and the ax...damn good therapy for me. It has been too hot to head outside and I'm starting to feel so restless. Life just sucks dammit. No one deserves to live in all this pain. Yet....we do.
Much peace and hugs,
Laura
