A Soldier's Tear

A Soldier’s Tear
-----------------
When a soldier cries
With tears in his eyes
It’s a big deal for emotions don’t come easy.

He’s taught to hide
The pain inside
And focus on his job at hand.

But when he sees destruction
With his life disruption
It can be difficult to handle.

A professional is he
Gives his life to be
But this man is only human.

He feels the fear,
From what he’s seen the past year
It overwhelms his mind.

But he does his best
To focus on the test
Puts his country above himself.

Yet he feels the pain
Feels a little shame
When a soldier has to cry.

Wow! This poem made me cry. My boyfriend is in the Army and I miss him a lot. People out there should take a few seconds out there day everyday to silently thank all the soldiers who are fighting for us or the ones who are in the military that might have to fight for us. Great poem!
