Windows Of Our Faith

Contributed by HOPE4ME2 on Wednesday, 5th May 2004 @ 06:35:28 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

So often we are trodden and down.
Keeping hope far from sight.
Basking in darkness,
Not being free in His light.
Walls we build to block others out.
Keeping a void filled with doubt.
The windows that are out there to see.
A glimpse of freedom,
We block with adversity.
Windows of our faith...
Blinds drawn tight,
Drowning in self pity,
Absorbed in our night.
Windows of our faith...
We close to hope,
Thinking it's easier to escape.
Night and day, two different planes,
Proceed with caution, each one has their chains.
Windows of our faith...
Many seek, few chose wisely.
Reach out and explore.
When circumstances of life close the door.
Windows of our faith...
Allow another avenue of travel.
When in this world, life comes unraveled.
Windows of our faith...
Feel His breeze anoint our soul,
Windows of our faith...
Stand ready to soar,
No longer standing at a closed door.
WIndows of our faith...

nice writing. religion was made in the earlier days to give people hope and to stop chaos. but these days its causes chaos with separation of church and state. then there is the fact that religion will always divide people, and a group cannot unite with diversity.

Well done, though it sounds a little choppy. Faith, NOT religion, will see us through. Too often people confuse the two. People who comment before me for instance. This poem was about struggle, inner fights, and had nothing to do with outer turmoil.
May your soul keep hold of the wings of faith, and fly high.
Take care,
David
