I'm Listening to Music in the Rain

I am watching a rainbow cast an eye,
Over a great, silk, sun forgotten sky,
And a fragile spiral of smokey gray
Is making it's own melancholy way,
Over the distant city to my house,
Now should I strike up a bright flame to douse?
For now I sense the rain grows wilder still,
Enough spirit to dampen nights sweet trill
Sweeping, miraculous, electric throng,
So instead I shall play my own sweet song,
Listening with a face up against the glass,
I hear pelting of rain with colours of brass,
And as I sit revived, a fresher bright soul,
Swallows this moment and re-creates me whole,
So sitting in the gloomy haze, I am once more sane,
Finally I am listening, to music, in the rain.

There is a metal awning over my bedroom window..when it rains..it plays a melody. Real quite beautiful to lay in bed at night and listen to it. This poem is great..captures the moment quite well |

Good poem. I particularly liked the way you described the gloom of the rainstorm,
as a
"great, silk, sun forgotten sky"
Really vivid.
Thanks for sharing. |
