The last goodbye

we stand under the candlelit street
just you and me
and the lamp posts rays
I wish I could make you listen
but you don’t believe these words
your not surprised by these tears
they've been said and done before
now you've lost hope
I haven’t that’s what hurts the most
I’m left here waiting
whilst your thoughts have been and gone
they leave me standing here
watching your cold eyes
trying to disguise my teenage cries
I wish maybe tomorrow
things will be ok
and that should buy us a little more time
I can’t help but dread our last goodbye
