On the beach called Silverstrand,
with Channel Islands harbor view.
In between my toes its sand.
Its ocean spray, in my hair too.
Vessels channel in and out.
Past the breakers either way.
Past the porpoises about.
Past the whales that make thier way.
Down the coastline every spring.
Dancing to some water tune.
Of their life mysteries, hear them sing.
While heading back to Scammons Lagoon.
For the courting, mating, birth.
Whales affirmation of their tomorrow dream.
Faith in their continuing, and its worth.
Does in their large eyes still gleam.
Ancient Kings of watered world.
Boundried only by the land.
Spout-sprayed rainbowed flag unfurled.
As you pass by Silverstrand.
