Grief

Why do you miss him still?
Why do you yearn for his return?
Can’t you get over this hill?
Will you ever cease to burn?
Why don’t you listen to me?
All this pain could end
I could set you free
He was just a friend
He left you here on your own
He didn’t think of you
Seeds of hurt he has sown
You shouldn’t be so blue
A year has already past
You shouldn’t still be here
It did seem awfully fast
You shouldn’t shed a tear
You can’t just hang on
Just forget his voice
He is gone
He made that horrible choice
Why are you crying?
He won’t come back
You can’t keep trying
The strength you lack
The memories are dim
But on October five
You will always think of him
And that hateful drive
Oh I give up
You sit in your pain
You drink from this cup
See what you have to gain
You go ahead
Work through your grief
He is still dead
Suicide is the thief
Commit to memory every moment
I tried to help you disregard
Go ahead cause yourself torment
Visit him at the grave yard
You know it will only cause hurt
I hardly think it will be a cure
Go look at the still fresh dirt
Go ahead if you’re sure
Remember all the good times had
I guess I miss him as well
You are making me sad
Just please don’t tell
I guess I find comfort in seeing his stone
The flowers and toys
I don’t feel quite as alone
I remember all the joys
I like to pretend I don’t
Because it is easier you see
If you won’t
Then I can pretend to be free
Something has changed
This is more than just pain
I feel rearranged
I don’t feel like I’m in chains
Together as one we sit on this limb
This isn’t what I thought it to be
But remembering him
Is what sets us free.

Dont worry you will always remember him but just remember in the end you will see him once again. |
