Forever in your embrace

Contributed by lostinmyself on Monday, 3rd May 2004 @ 01:22:32 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

You hold me close,
Shivering in guilty denial,
Listening as silent whispers betray my emotions,
Caressing my thoughts which drift in and out of shadows...
We watch the stars cry,
Shooting their tears across the heavens,
As they try to shield me from your light,
But I'm slowly being drawn into your eyes...
Beautiful but touched by terror,
I want to stay this way...
...In your arms forever.

You make me feel whole,
Protected by the circle of your arms,
And I know I can rest easy,
As my hero watches over me,
And we can sleep eternal slumber,
Proving love together,
As the stars cry the blackest tears,
Which reflect in the mirrors in your eyes,
Surrounding me with your newly found darkness,
I want to stay this way...
...In your arms forever

As I die in your embrace....
Rest easy...

Very touching and haunting. Such a comfort in death. I know that feeling. So much joy in life though.

i'd say, yes, dark poetry works fine for this...

yery poetic, wonderful... i love the line 'surrounding me with your newly found darkness'

although, a couple of the lines do contradict, (stanza 1 line 7 and stanza 2 line 9, and stanza 1 line 6, stanza 2 line 7)
i feel this works with the dark glittering, slightly undrlying confusion of this poem...
beautiful... and now I feel King...
