Lady of Accidents

Contributed by Bloodyrose on Monday, 3rd May 2004 @ 11:39:26 AM in AEST
Topic: psychoticpoems

Winter has been waiting too long,
Tendrils of frost and snow
Sitting at bay behind
Rusted trees and iron gates.

Glass topped noses
and icy breath.
The sun bouncing off
Cracked walls and cracked lips.

Death has been waiting too long,
Stick fingered hands of love
and of hate.
Trapped behind a cortex
of neurons that misfire and weep.

Tomatoed hands that
smell of life
and look like
a car crash on a highway.
150 and no sign of slowing,
flying on tarmac
and skidding on that
blanket of despair.

Brakes slamming down
as a ghost walks out
in lane one.
Head hits the steering wheel
and spatters and splatters
like an African sunset.

I watch in the wings,
my lungs paused and
eyes widened with
curiosity.
And I dip bread in the
blood
and feast on
dying shards of broken glass.

bought up some gruesome images this one!, very well crafted. One thing i have noticed of the 3 poems i have read of yours is they are all well thought out and very well written.
