I hate my eyes
The ambiguous shades
Hiding a thousand stories
Wrapped in layers of suffering
You can’t see my soul
My eyes
Dark and heavy
So many shades of brown
Too dark and small the letters are
No one can read a word
Symbols of a dead language
No one alive can speak the tongue
My eyes are no special possession
I try and hide them with beryl
But they still show through
My eyes never look real
No matter how hard I try to hide them
You can still see that they are false
So I sometimes keep them hidden
From the world underneath amber tones
that is why off and on what I hate most
Are my eyes

I've always had a fascination with eyes. They are a window to the soul. You're right sometimes, they're murky and nobody can see through the glass of the window. Hope you find some solace somehow.
Brilliant poem. Good write.
