LoveRemembered
|
How sweet is my girl Joan whom I adore.
Much like an ancient goddess handed me
then by Zeus great god known from ancient lore.
This my Athena, choicest maid that be.
To my heart's closed door she now holds the key.
All I have I give free on low bended knee.
This my love I have laid before your throne
A source for thy well being my dear Joan.

LoL when I first read this I thought the poem was about someone sacrificing their loved one for someone else's well-being!! Then I read the "aw how sweet" comments and thought wait a second... Now it scans much nicer. Anyway I love the way this was written, simple but beautiful. Too bad it wasn't about blood sacrifice, that might have been the icing on the cake. |
