Drag me away from the heat I dwell in
Rip me from my tears
Pick me up from apologies and disappointment
Curl me around your finger, disarray all my fears
No place left to be
Belonging without any sense of style
You've proven your lack of worth to me
And I knew it all the stupid while
Take me away from everything I died for
And make me new within
You jerked me from my decencies
And now I want you to wear every stupid sin
Blood lost for anything
Remind me as you take even more
Break the glass on my head
Leave the pieces of glass and my head lie broken on the floor
I'd trust you with everything
Disappointment to no end
You turned into an angel from hell
Tossed me from my heaven-send
Prove to me that your nothing
Sour my thoughts and spread your poison
Destroy my everything with your laced words
Keep me close just for noise and..
Take me away from where there's dying
Protect me as you never think you will
I'll blow smoke into your insanity
Let you stay insane even still
You tainted my existence
Showing the world how I really feel
Waiting for you to return me
Give back what you always chose to steal
You went so sour
Lost to what you like to call an end
You left me here with everything
In my hands without my heaven-send....

Dark, and riddled with regrets. I empathize well with this; but it's no simple thing composing poetry from such wretched experiences, thoughts. One of the more beautifully caliginous pieces I've read in a while. The title goes perfectly with it, as well. It's hard to collect my thoughts after that overwhelming aura I caught from this. Simply staggering.
Keep writing,
-Eve. |
