enchantment

Contributed by crystalnebulina on Saturday, 1st May 2004 @ 04:36:03 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

in the tales of old
way back when earth was new
and both man and beast spoke...
-------------------------
dragons captured maidens so true
in a lair a dragon sleeps while one eye
stays open
so he could guard his treasure of gold
--------------------------
wizards weave a web of enchantment
stare in wonder
as magick unfolds
----------------------
unicorns play in a deep forest of green
as the sun sets...they finally settle by a crystal clear stream
and wish that all remains serene
--------------------------
kings and queens reigned supreme over lands
while princes rescued princessess from black magick spells
a true prince would only have to place a petal soft kiss...upon a princess's rosebud lips
-------------------------
knights in armors of white...were so bold
they'd raise their swords and slay all the King's enemies
down down they go
--------------------
elves sing a merry tune
underneath a starry moon
---------------------
dwarves dwell way down a mountain's bowels
cutting precious stones...some silver....some gold
polishing them till the all ah glitter
----------------------
faeries fly all through the night
stirring up mischief
wherever they go
-------------------
so it has come to pass...the earth is now old and those mystical times are now all gone...they went by so fast
and those mystical times now only seem
like a distant dream
----------------------
but alas! sometimes on a clear midsummer's night
when walking down a wooded path
if you're very quiet... you may perhaps hear or see and elf sing
but only if in your heart you truly want
to believe.

It certainly keeps the interest reading till the end. Cool!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
