Why Daddy?

Contributed by BaByBaNaNa on Saturday, 1st May 2004 @ 12:05:28 AM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

Why did you leave me?
Come on dad, I was only three.
I mean, you missed out on all of my life
All because of your new wife
And those precious kids, I can’t forget those precious kids
I used to ask myself what I did
What did I do, to make you not like me?
That was the question I asked myself repeatedly
I used to break down and cry
Cause it hurts so much to have to wonder why
Why don’t my daddy love me-
Like he does his other three?
Did I do something naughty?
Was it because of mommy?
Well you hurt mommy, too
I bet mommy was really blue
Now she probably can’t stand the thought of you
Because of all you put her through
I love you daddy, I really do
I hope someday you can love me, too.

I felt like i was the one writting that. It was saddly amazing. I felt like that with my dad as well, and i guess with time you learn to be okay with what he gives you. I'm happy to just see my dad, or even talk to him. Even after everything he's done, he is still the person that i admire the most...oddly so. I guess it's kinda hard to tell if you hate him so much you love him, or you love him so much you hate him...i've been battling that for a while, but i still love him. Good luck, and wonderful write.

I hate when people have kids and the kids don't have a father around because I hate to see them in pain and hurting because they felt they did something wrong. It's not there fault. I can say everything works out for a reason and your mom stand by you the way she should. Your dad should still come around but he's no man so you don't need him

Oh sweety , i also can relate like some other of your readers. I can only say that i am closeing in on 50 in a couple years and time does help but you always feel a certain amount of sadness. You will get to a point when it just wont bother you much. God bless you.
