oh how can i find the words to say to you...
shattered pieces of you are like shiny diamonds lost in the wind...

i slipped off your pedestal long ago
i fell from grace
now shame rules my realm and the guilt i have feels like a heavy winter's cloak
that won't ever come off
it's the color of the blackest shadow
that grows across my heart

yeah i know it's so cold now
i know i haven't been there
yes my words are careless
but know that you're in my thoughts, always
believe me when i say i really do care

all alone surrounded by candlelight shadows
over the years those hard edges faded into softness
all my attempts to turn back the hands of time
have been in vain
now i'm only left with the ghost of you
you're no longer the same

oh how i desire to fly through the starless sky
my wings would blaze like they're on fire
(oh let this dream carry me away)
still i can't leave my fears behind when your voice
echoes my name
how will i be able to embrace...to face
the ghost of you
you're no longer the same

place your frail hand into mine
let's walk down the path of tears through time
of memories of yesterdays
that still haunts us

i know i let you down
"i'm sorry" doesn't sound like much to say
if i could slay your dragon down

swallow my youth

wipe away those dark shadows

i'll follow the crow to you

| oh my god! this poem reminds me so much of my ex and I. it's like . . . no matter how much i say i'm sorry, it don't make anything better, and i care about him so much. your poem really made me think about stuff i did. thanx :) |
