I met James at the center of the Earth
It was hot and there was dirt all around
But I gather you can figure that
And James says, “I’m your buddy through the fight.
“And I’ll help you find yourself,
If you suck it up and follow me,
So, I went and told everyone I could tell
When the devil came and met me in a wishing well
I know I better leave him,
I better leave him now
Because he’ll find a way to trick me
Though I’m not sure how
James says, “It’s a long way down.
But I’ll make it through
‘Cause James is always beside me
And James says “You’re as white as snow.
“But how would you know, if you can’t even see?
James, no one’s here but myself
“In the end it’s the wealth,
Of your spirit and your hope in me.
So, I went and told everyone I could tell
When the devil came and met me in a wishing well
I know I better leave him,
I better leave him now
Because he’ll find a way to trick me
Though I’m not sure how
James says it’s a long way down,
But I’ll make it through
I got a little confused and gave James a piece of my heart
He said, “I need all of you, but I guess it’s a start.
I told him I was sorry for all the wrong I could recall
He said I was forgiven,
Forgiven of them all.
We spoke of my future in the perfect world
I cried, “Why would I welcome me, a sinful girl?
And then James took me in his arms
And said “There’s so much to gain…
I came into your life just to ease you pain.
Yes, just to ease your pain.
It’s a long way down,
But I’m gonna make it through…

I liked the part about having to give Jesus all of who we are. Very intense? So, do you believe it or not? Beautiful poem.

Carrie-
I do in fact believe in Christ. I'm a Christian, a strong believer at that. I wrote this poem after seeing "The Passion of The Christ" the day it came into theaters. This poem was just about me feeling guilty for all I've done and my "conversations" (prayers) with God. I wrote this knowing that whatever it is I do, no matter how horrible, as long as I'm truly sorry and believe in Him, I will be forgiven and will live eternally with Him
I don't mean to offend anyone, that's just my beliefs. |
