The sky screams for mercy as the storm disturbs it.
Torrents of rain drowning the misery below.
At first it is reminiscent of a midsummer’s normality,
Until the blackness spreads.
An all-encompassing wind drains its fury upon the earth.
The dramatics of the colors—gray and green
Envelop all thoughts of optimism.
A bone-chilling burst of the brightest white
As the lightning draws patterns on the heavens
Dancing in the most mysterious beauty.
And a shattering blast of sound holds me motionless
So I climb the mountain to welcome the nightmare
Open arms wide and invite the strike
Because this storm of immense despair has destroyed all that I have.
And I have welcomed it here.
This is my doing.
By my own design I fall.

Such a great write Liquid- Full of color and tone. I have one critique, don't tell that its lightening-
'A bone-chilling burst of the brightest white
As the lightning draws patterns on the heavens Dancing in the most mysterious beauty.
instead something like: A bone-chilling burst of the brightest white, drawing patterns on the heavens Dancing in the most mysterious beauty.
Let my imagination take over and run with it. This is really an awesome write. Thanks for sharing. |
