Oh sweet sixteen but a day away from.
I’m nothing but calm.
A bundle of bad nerves
This is what you observe.
Not my birthday but the path to adult hood.
No long with the excuse for girlhood.
The pressure is immense.
Can no longer hold this pretence.
On the surface I seem like any other teenager.
But I’m just a huge faker.
Oh you hear me say I couldn’t feel better.
You just don’t hear the sarcasm of my gesture.
That may be contradictory,
At least I lay it barely.
Something special I am called.
Now I’m just enthralled.
Talented I may be.
But can’t you see.
It’s just my natural talent.
For being,
Me.
