Soon the passion of America will be upon us. Our hometown warriors, once again, will prepare for battle in the oval arena. Free agents will make deals, or look for a new home to showcase their talent. Heros of yesterday will retire. The youth of the game will shock and amaze.
As the NFL draft gets closer, deals will be made. The season could be won or lost, as the playmakers of tomorrow are joined with the stars of today. The coaches work on the playbooks, while the warriors condition their bodies.
Once pre season begins, the roster will dwindle down to the elite. Some say these games are meaningless, but for the players it is a time to shine. The ones that survive will embark on a quest for the ultimate goal. The others will join us as spectators.
Finally the time has come. Opening day is sold out and the fans await. The teams charge out on the field like warriors into battle. Game by game, quarter by quarter they fight to survive. They fight through sweat and blood. They struggle through injury and defeat.
This is what football is all about. The right to declare themselves the best of the best. The masters of the game. The icon of America. Thirty two teams will compete, but only one will earn the right to be called Super Bowl Champion.
