Silence's Demand

Contributed by reprobate on Thursday, 29th April 2004 @ 11:48:38 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A wayward sunbeam peeking through drawn shades
Playing on in the silence without a care
Wandering alone, seeking some special someplace
Dancing almost purposely, continually, first here, then there

What drives your seemingly hapless intrusion
Have you come to mock the peace of solitude
Did some tired dream make a plaintive call
Or were you drawn by dark's quiet attitude

Just sitting here, watching the meanderings
No comfort can be found in the shared alone together
Anguish found a soothing within ebon mantle
You're just rememberance's pain on illuminated tether

Flee this place. Go now from my shadowed retreat
Leave me. Let me to my solitary musing
Return to the outside bright from whence you came
The night's tears and the memories of day are too confusing

Ron is right, great poem. I would have to sway more towards bitter anger from the past.

"Or were you drawn by dark's quiet attitude" for some reason really struck me. I like that line immensely.
