The Night Before Mother's Day 2003

It’s almost funny when you’re life’s at stake.
All your glee seems to fade.
To realize you alive is a wonderful thing.
When you’re on the brink, and talking to death.
I said “Oh God don’t take me yet�.
And the lights go off, but only in your head.
The haze arises and you think you’re dead.
The turbulence frazzled your mind.
And you can’t even think, you’re almost blind.
The feeling, too indescribable,
Almost like it’s a thrill.
And then you wonder, have I been killed?
Then the first thing I thought.
What had just happened.
When it became clear,
My life was just threatened.
The sirens came too.
And I didn’t know what to do.
As I lay bleeding but breathing.
It was all too real.
But the fact is that,
It wasn’t that bad, for I could still feel.
My limbs intact, I climbed from the wreckage.
They asked me my name, but I didn’t answer.
For the influence I was under,
I could only mutter.
The ringing in my head,
Kept me thinking,
I’m still not dead.
When I finally heard their words,
They asked, “Were you restrained?�
The truth I constrained.
As they told me I could’ve died.
Had I not been buckled
As tears flooded me,
I gave out a chuckle,
And realized how very luck I was
As I was realeased.
I thought to myself.
I can’t believe I am not deceased.
Then it became clear.
As cliché as it was.
I never saw my life flash before my eye.
Maybe I wasn’t meant to die.

thank goodness you werent meant to be dead!! Those car accidents ar scarry things ask me I know...........
