Eternity's Nightmare

Contributed by Black13 on Thursday, 29th April 2004 @ 07:12:12 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Darkness lay waiting, in a graveyard's calm.
Fingers creep in gentle stillness to banshee's psalm.

Lovers hide, shaking, in frozen terror of what stalks.
Hunters come and go, in inky shadowed form, the undead that walks.

A game they played, has put them on death's train.
Invoked spirits, in chanted refrain, from a realm of eternal pain.

No circle, spell, or word can send invoked demon back to hell.
Only to pit will they return when all are left and empty shell.

Still they hide like frightened mice, while demons play.
She's told to run, his sacrifice, but the dead to not sway.

She hears his piercing screams, breathtakingly loud;
being torn to shreds by hating claws, while moon hides beind cloud.

Running 'til, lungs feel to explode, she finally hits her knees.
The price to hell is paid again, she knows she too will pay the fees.

Tears stream, while heart screams when she is cornered;
she begs and pleads, all hope surrendered.

Wicked grins filled with sharks teeth are all that greet.
She tries to fight, to get away, realizing she's just fresh meat.

She opens her eyes, thankful she's alive.
Sees her friends, all five.

She's so happy that she cries out ecstatic;
when she nears she knows that her eternity will not be copasetic.

Demons wait still grinning at her, wicked.
In the realm of hell, hope crushed, she dies again, tricked.
