I stare at the writing on my hand
Written in permanent ink
“Dan wants to die�
Is what it says
Written in all capital letters
I run my finger across the words
Trying to think of a way to make you want to live
“Dan wants to die�
You whisper to me as I hold you in my arms
I don’t give you reasons to live
Or tell you that it is wrong
“Dan wants to die�
Written on my hand all in capital letters
In permanent ink
I keep it on for one short day
Then gently rub it off
For no one else needs to know
That
“Dan wants to die�
