Swimming through apologies
Drowning in what always was
The past surrounds my face
Reminds me as it always does
The black that represents you
The pain I wear upon my chest
You seemed to take what you wanted from me
And then you seemed to forget the rest
The ache of tragedy
And the pains of today
I hate the way you look tonight
And still you scar me anyway
The shards of broken promises
As I bleed upon them on the floor
I tried to keep you here
And you ran laughing out the door
