Do not live in yesterday's

Contributed by lil_angel on Thursday, 29th April 2004 @ 02:57:56 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

I see you broken, hurt and down
I want to pick up the pieces of your heart
Of your life
“What did you get yourself into this time I mutter
But I am relieved you called

You look like a lost little boy
I want to make it all better
To get father time to turn back the clock
But I cant
“What did you do this time I mumble
But I am here for you

I embrace you
Hold you
Let the tears fall silently from your face
I don’t judge; I only listen, and hold you close
I don’t tell you to shhh, I don’t tell you not to cry

You made a mistake, and now you got to face the music
Timidly you step
Scared of shattering the eggshells you put yourself on
Daniel, brother, friend
Look me in the eyes (you do)

She will forgive you,
Haylee will love again
Give her space, and give her time
Tell her you love her, and that you are sorry
What’s that you say?
Now it’s my turn to break

You want to die? No! brother, friend
I hold your cut-up hand
1,2,3…11 marks now grace your arms
*Pull you close, hold you in my arms*
Hold back my own tears, I am here for you

I love you dear brother, talk to me let me in
Don’t close the door, PLEASE don’t lock it tight!
Icy blue eyes, burn through mine.
But you know that you are loved
You turned to me in your hour of need

You absolute hour of need
You knew I would be there for you
I sit there listening speaking only when needed
Then tell you that you are loved

Tomorrow is a new day
Learn from yesterdays but don’t live in them

Daniel, brother friend, please choose life!
