Today Was

Topic: SongLyrics

Today was
Supposed to be happy
I was going to tell you
How much that I love you
Today was
Supposed to be joyful
You were going to say
That you loved me too
Today was
Supposed to be happy
I was going to ask you
If you wished to marry
Today was
Supposed to be joyful
You were going to say
That you'd gladly marry
But a storm came
While we were talking
While we were waiting
We should have been sharing
The wind blew
Your frail body
You cried out for help and
I shielded you body
And as I lay o'er you
I whispered I love you
I looked into your eyes
You said you loved me too
The wind blew
My frail body
It threw things against me
But I shielded you
As I look down
From the heavens
And see you shaking
My broken body
I know that
You loved me
I shouldn't have doubted
I should not have delayed
I ask God
Did I do the right thing
Did I throw my life away
Down the drain
I tell God
She was my reason
For living each day
She showed me love
And God said
You gave your life for
A lady that you loved
You showed her you cared
God said
You should rejoice
You made a wise choice
You will be remembered by her
She will
Never forget you
She'll always love you
She lives in your name
You are
Her reason for living
Her reason for breathing
Her reason for love
I thank God
And think about times past
How I used to see you
How you would see me
Forever
I will be joyful
I will sing praises
I will not forget
You are
My reason for loving
My reason for caring
My reason for life
Today was
Supposed to be happy
I was going to tell you
How much that I love you
Today turned
Into a nightmare
I died holding you there
Safe in my arms
One day
You could join me
If you still remember
That I am here
I love you
More than ever
More than forever
More than my soul
I will wait here
Forever and ever
Now and forever
Till you join my soul
