Stained-glass dreams laid with love's artistic knife
Cut of colors from the palette of life
Our souls are painted in delicate hues
By the subtle brush of the paths we choose
Ever-changing vision expressed by unseen hand
We are the the canvas on that stand
Rough sketches filled in with hope and fear
Drawing the future with a smile and a tear
With it's colors and shades and the many grays
The pigments are crushed from our yesterdays
Tomorrow is the picture at which we stare
Set down today with such a harsh glare
