Walking Tall!

Contributed by lowman613 on Wednesday, 28th April 2004 @ 10:25:26 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

You touched so many people in your life,
always had a smile to give,
You got your strength through your wife,
she was your will to live,
but your legs got weaker & gave out,
and all hope seemed gone,
there was times you wanted to scream & shout,
but your heart still stayed strong,
with just one leg, walking was hard,
but you never showed it,
knowing the road to recovery was far,
but you would never admitt,
the loss of the second leg,was hard to bare,
you tried to stay strong,
acting as if you didnt care,
like there was nothing wrong,
I praise you for being strong & brave,
knowing deep down your pain,
you took it to your grave,
without ever going insane,
In Heaven I know your walking tall,
free from all you went through,
I'm sure you will be having a ball,
like the old person I knew,
Keep on walking with a smile,
like you never did before,
I know now your walking in style,
going through Heavens door,
So when I walk,or put on a shoe,
or get tierd or weak in my feet,
I will stop to think of you,
for now your walking can't be beat!
In Memory of Danny

My causin has Diabeties, she was the youngest in North America to get it. So far she hasn't gone through any surgerys or have any circulation problems but the whole family knows she will. Were cherishing every moment with her cause we know she wont be around eventually. Her parents are right on top of the new medications and sergerys. They moved to the U.S. because of the better hospitals. My ema and her are soooooo close. When either one of them dies it will be so hard on the other and the rest of the family. It's only a matter of time.

Christina; I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. It is such a crippling disease for some. My mother has it, she is 79, and is insulin dependent. We watch her feet very carefully and her legs. She is doing well, thank God, but it take a lot of work and special dieting and exercise. It is very difficult when they get older.
