Dengan keperitan yang kauhadiahkan kepada aku
Dalam air matamu? Kehadiranmu
Takkanlah menguntungkan kami di sini.
Yang ini akan aku beritahumu
Aku rela hidup miskin, bersedekah
Daripada berkongsi dalam kemungkaranmu
Aku rela hidup merempat, tanpa ditadah sebarang atap
Daripada dinodaimu dan diperkosa olehmu lagi
Aku lebih rela hidup bebas; di samudera yang las terbentang
Daripada dibelenggu dan dipaksa menajak rumput
Mengikut kehendak engkau.
Inilah sumpahku untukmu: lebih baik kuberputih tulang
Daripada berputih mata, bersamamu..
