The Morale of the Story

I've got it!
It's all planned out,
If I say I'm going here
Then I'll get out of the house,
Then all I have to do is lay low
And don't get caught...
Seems easy enough right?
Well... here's the lesson I've been taught.
You're going to friends
But you end up at the wrong house...
Well coming home that morning, on the wrong road,
You get a flat.
Try all morning to fix it
And still make it home ten...
Well you get back, the police are towing your car,
What a fix you're in.
So now you're at the wrong place, at the wrong time,
Dealing with the cops,
And your parents are hysterical
Thinking that your lost,
Well you concoct some story
That doesn't flow to well...
The blow out wrecked your car anyway..
So you're grounded, who can tell?
Well, surely that was some freak accident,
No, it just gets better,
While you're trying to rebel like all teenagers..
You keep getting tethered.
Wanted to be cool,
Sneak contraband out of the house,
Well, mom's hairdresser suggest the drink that it's bottled in...
Let me have a sip of that.
Grounded again,
But surely that was just a mistake...
So while all other teenagers are rebelling..
You are getting staked...
Try again...
Going to a friend's house...
Stop off at the cabin just to play in the rain,
Do really stupid stuff so that passing cars
Will think that you're insane.
Well while you're all joking around
The key falls off the ring...
Through the slats of the front porch...
Now the fun just doesn't have that same zing.
So you call up another friend
Who will come and pick you up,
You'll get the spare key out of the house,
It will work, of course it messes up.
The key isn't where it's supposed to be,
Your dog just went insane,
She thinks you're a burgular,
It's just you, in your house, 3 in the morning, soaking wet with rain,
While your mother is staring down at you
Saying, "Haven't you gotten the morale of the story yet?"
You'll always get caught, it's inevitable, grounded for two months,
Get to bed.
So the morale of my story is...
Not to try and try again,
But to realize that after the first ten thousand times you try something,
Realize... rebelling just isn't going to win.
