Who am I

No parents, a new country, the pass of a friend and of a child
Faces of me, still with a heart timid and mild
A moment, a year, a jaded eye and a godless tear
Stagnantly still while ever growing, possibly strong but alone, with fear
This history surreal became a future inconsequential
The facets are needed, all parts essential
They're presented at every thought and breath, so ragged and torn
It's a diary of me from the moment I was thrust into world so worn
The misery of life never fades, I don't let it show
A clip-on smile decorates and hides all that I now know
I'm a room of shelves packed with existential dreams and repugnant pain
An unkempt library read with utter disdain
So, splayed before the world, naked as if without care
I proffer this self; this tormented imagery I share
You don't have to look but I feel you must
If you would know me before I'm dust

This is a great revelation of you. So few would share so much of themselves like this. Most of us hide behind plastic facades and tell the world all is perfect. This is a portrayal of a man with a strong sense of self, survival and will. I admire this immensely. Continue on and never let the world bring you down.
My best,
Rita |
