Birth of a season

Contributed by reprobate on Tuesday, 27th April 2004 @ 09:09:30 PM in AEST
Topic: NaturePoetry

With light, sun-kissed breath
The Mother dons a fresh face
Winter bleak melts into yesterday
As resplendant Spring tats it delicate lace

In the dark and fertile mold
Impatient children stir from their rest
Scrabbling skyward in answer to some ethereal call
Posing in their finery, it's a color-filled contest

Bluebells, Tulips and Daffodils, too
Filling the air and senses complete
Silently decorating the earth and sky
And in the floating warmth, they dance so sweet

With bemisted eye and a heart so filled
I stop and spend time in this Nature's weir
To shed for a moment, life's cares and woes
To absorb this newborn joy with relish and desire

I adore the look of love and pride when they hand them too you. My heart just clinches with love. This brings back so many beautiful memories of when my sons were young. Thank you.
