From a son to his father.

April 1935 - January 2002

As I sit here with the company of tear
filled eyes and trembling hands,I remember
a great man.

I am blessed to be molded in
the essence of his honesty and devotion. He
was, and always will be, a hero among men in
the eyes of a son with a broken heart.

I regret that his last years were spent with
us so far apart from one last smile and
encouraging word. My last goodbye was spent
clinched in his strong grip knowing he would
never see me again. That hug seemed to go on
forever, because he knew it would be his last.

He lived his last few years with pain and
suffering, but his death will leave behind
memories of joy to a son who will never
forget. In life he was my hero. In death he is
my angel in heaven.

This was a beautiful dedication to a father, from his son. You know i lost my brother four years ago today, and that hurt like hell, but i can't begin to imagine what losing ones father is like. Again great write, and thanks for sharing it.

This poem brought tears to my eyes. What a lovely dedication. A son couldnt say nicer words to his father.

I'm really sorry about your loss. You described your feelings and your father with perfection. Yes, this does show that you're not all about humorous poetry only. Great write.
