Songwriter

Contributed by griffin9 on Monday, 26th April 2004 @ 03:54:14 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

I want a song that cries the blues,
That gets me through the next day or two.
Sing me a song that's not too short,
The perfect length to make me beg for more.

You are the songwriter, deep inside of me.
You're the player and the fighter,
Lost inside of me.
You're my hero and my idol,
The one I want to be.
Why won't you just come out?
Why can't you just be me?

Play me a tune that sounds so smooth-
A groove, that'll get me in the mood.
A song that shows me who I am
That proves to me that I'm not just one of them.

Sing something old or sing something new,
And if I know the tune then I'll play with you.
A song that reaches deep inside of me,
But then it turns me inside out.

You are the songwriter, deep inside of me.
You're the player and the fighter,
Lost inside of me.
You're my hero and my idol,
The one I want to be.
Why won't you just come out?
Why can't you just be me?
