Betrayal through Darkness

Mystified shadows creep over the dark
opening my mind to the world
Grasping at fractured dreams that hover
focusing on the anguished cries
Concentrating for a break in silence
peering straight for any sort of colour
a taunting game in which someone desires
no comfort when darkness has teeth
An urgency pleads through midnight haze
this masterpiece you have conquered
Conjured on me this mirrored face
brutality was set as a mighty image
Visions of the midnight evil disappear
now I embrace the calm of night
No response to this betrayal of darkness
I have claimed it back

Why this hasn't gotten more comments is perplexing to me. Such vision, such talent, such enthralling execution...it's a bright star in the night sky of YPDC. You and your sterling talent have earned a fan.
Truly,
