Grief
|
The deepest night
Utter black
That stuns me
Is not dark enough
And the moon smiles
Soft pastel
Her face breaths comfort
That burns my soul
And the stars twinkle
Laughing children
That wink at me
In roaring scorn
And the suns rises
She chases the darkness
That flies
In shame
And the world turns
Blue and green
A true paradise
Without mercy
Clocks, why do you tick?
Wiping the hours
Like dust from a rug
Forgotten and unwanted
I listen
But I cannot hear you
I look
But I cannot see you
My memories
Are splintered
By the ever rising tide
And the always falling waves
I listen
But I only hear the birds sing
I look
But you're lost between the blooming blossoms
It's spring
*ever again*
The land explodes
*ever again*
In variegated rejoice
*ever again*
Old flows to new
*ever again*
Clouds, why is it only you that cry?

This is more than excellent. I love a poem where nature is personified with emotion, and it is especially well-done here. This is truly a timeless work, as beautiful to me as it would have been to the ears of a listener to an ancient Greek, Celtic or Hebrew elegist.
Bravo!
