The love we had, I knew was so good,
We laughed, talked just how a good couple should.
We shared a first kiss, a first love so sweet,
I knew from then on no man would ever beat,
A love like yours.
You had me in the clouds,
Drunken, high from your love.
You couldn’t make me any more proud,
Your last name fit me like a glove!
At least that’s what I thought.
Maybe you felt a different way,
You weren’t ready to be real.
Maybe you weren’t able for love’s price to pay
I guess that’s how you feel
You hurt me.
If you felt like this all along,
How come you never said so?
Had me listening to a love song,
I thought that’s how our love would go.
You said farewell.
Made me never want to love again,
I have been hurt for a lifetime.
Don’t want a man, don’t want a friend,
Just want you just to be mine.
But you broke my heart, said farewell.

I wonder why women love and men only need? I have questioned that for years. Is there one man that truly knows what real love is? I keep trying but somewhere deep inside me there is a feeling that love is just a myth, perpetuated to keep us on the hook. I keep biting, it keeps being jerked away. Maybe one day I will learn. Shame because actually I am an intelligent educated woman, just not in love apparently.
