The Connection

Contributed by Justalady on Sunday, 25th April 2004 @ 07:05:51 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

How does on connect with another human being,
even feeling their thoughts without ever being seen?
Are emotions able to travel through some source unknown,
that lets us feel love and trust, without ever being shown?

Though all we see are words on a written page,
it doesn't seem to make a difference as to appearance and age.
We only have thoughts of things we've dreamt' of....deep within our mind,
hoping we'll find the love and comfort that's sometimes hard to find.

How is it.... that a smile is felt, or the wetness of a tear,
across the miles of space, yet never feeling fear?
Is it the heart responding to thoughts within the mind,
that allows us to seek this kinship of a different kind?

When if perhaps in time, there's a chance to see the face,
of the person behind the words written , through miles of cyber-space,
will you know each other, as you thought that you would?
If enough time has passed, it should indeed be good.

There are some here that I personally do feel a very special connection too. It's funny how the written words tear down the boundaries of space and time and make great friends of those who have never met in person. This is writtend to perfection my friend
Very well done

Cyber-space attracts a lot of frauds and would-be friends, but I sincerely believe that at places at this one they're a distinct minority. It's my experience that out here in cyber-space you can build a solid foundation for friendships (and maybe even more) as well as anywhere else.

Your poem really makes me think. It is sometimes hard to believe such a connection exists, but I know they're really there.

I have to agree with Larry. Most art, I think, is an expression of one's self and we get a feeling of each other through their expression of themselves through their art. You expressed this extremely well.

This was a very unique poem to read and so much truth and wisdom found in it.

It is amazing how powerful words can be and how relationships can develop in a different sort of way than in a real life relationship. Fascinating really. The internet is just a new form of an old form of falling in love. In the old days there were letter writers and in the new times there is the internet.

I have no idea what a real life meeting would be like and/or if it would ruin the magic but it is an interesting concept.

You gave me food for thought!

Kie
