Open Your Heart

Contributed by Kandis on Saturday, 24th April 2004 @ 04:51:07 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

There comes a time and a place,
When you have to kneel upon your face.
You've drifted as far as you can go,
Continually facing pain and woe.
The pleasures you were seeking have all become the same,
The joys you once treasured, now seem mundane.
The life you have chosen has left you hollow inside,
That's the end result, if with God, you don't abide.
Each night when your lying in your bed,
Sleep eludes you, and you cry instead.
Night after night comes, and you just can't admit,
You're dying inside, yet to God, you won't commit.
You know down deep, what you should do,
But you just can't seem to follow it through.
Something that's so simple, just seems too hard,
You tell yourself that you've gone too far.
What you don't realize is the price has been paid,
Whatever your baggage, it's you, God wants to save.
You say there's too many things that you must first fix,
But it's to change your life that is God's wish.
So open your heart, and invite God in,
Accept His love, and His forgiveness of sin.
Take some time to kneel and to pray,
God will show you His mercy and His glorious grace.

Beautiful work with a well penned message of the love and forgiveness of Father in heaven. You have stated strong truths here. I really do like this piece.
