Well Gone Dry

Contributed by Vitreous_Soul on Saturday, 24th April 2004 @ 08:53:13 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A vitric sphere, a barren eye
A rainless tear, a rueful cry
A heart left sere, a wasted try
A death-flow clear, a well gone dry

Maledict year, anguish descry
Enduring fear, obscured blue sky
Elusive cheer, mournful goodbye
Vacuous bier, a well gone dry

Events austere, results awry
Vacant sincere, spurious lie
Imminent drear, despairing sigh
Tenantless pier, a well gone dry

Impulse severe, centric foci
Beaten eyes blear, despond draws nigh
Lone wolf revere, cease to rely
Feelings once dear, a well gone dry

You have such fun with words, don't you? And you create such insightful and beautiful works. This is one more of those.

Beautiful, Dan . . . as always. The lilting meter in this, the soft and natural-seeming rhymes . . . like I said, beautiful. And you have no idea how glad I am that you're back on your feet again. You know I'm always here if you need to talk.

love, chocolate, CEGHs, aarkvarks, emoticons and other enjoyable but weird things,
Nora

You do play with words in a brilliant way. You know you got me to thinking about wells. Even when wells go dry it will rain again. Its hard to imagine water though when the well is dry. I wish you happiness in all areas of your life.

Hang in there, okay?

Kie

Awestriking metaphors, from a very bleak emotion that you've drawn the intriguing prospects out of. Emptiness is surely something of where this came from, and I do hope that you'll get rain soon.
I am so glad to see another poem from you. Keep writing.

Or play the museum's version of musical chairs,
-Eve.

I can see why you feel so much better after freeing this write. I have a feeling that the well is beginning to fill, and i look forward to reading your next release. I will need to read this a couple more times to absorb it.
Keep up the awesome writes, Lone Wolf :)

You weave those words and thoughts so well. Your work is always a delight. This was just extra special, maybe because I relate so to it. As Kie said, it eventually always rains after a well goes dry and refills the font.

What words COULD describe how good that is??? I know I couldnt even begin to think of the right words. I Love it! Always so complexly simple. The beauty in your vocabulary is excruciating. Wonderful, emotional, amazing write, Danny!

Keep it up...we all sit in awe until your next submission.

Candidly expelled, as required of ending chapters in lives. I'm thinking of The Last Sonata now . . ?
I ramble . . . anyway - this kind of rhyme only comes from either days of dedication, or emotional eruptions of volcanic insistence.
I find many private thoughts and feelings here.
An interesting write, emphatically chiselled.

I could ramble for hours about this piece my friend, but instead i shall direct your attention to my comment on your last write,

As for the poem itself, as always your technical experise shines through, vocabulary is perfected beyond imagination, R & R as always flawless
What more is left to be said apart from amazingly, perfectly, gloriously dark, amazingly, perfectly gloriously brilliant

Luke

Owing to my peculiar and sometimes minimal vocabulary, I had to look up a few things. :-) Anway, I echo the other's sentiments here. This is really a poem full of empty soul. Blessings.
