Answer To The Call

somewhere in the dark a baby cries
but no one comes to dry her tear-filled eyes
a young woman finds her dream of love is shattered
when she sees her lover caught up in his own lies
a single guy denies he can't stop gambling
even when it puts his bills so far behind
who is there to answer to the call
when the lonely soul cries out in desperation
for just the sound of a person's friendly voice
who will help the young one whose taste for liquor
has brought them to a place without a choice i pray
may God's grace be there to touch their very core.
