Kiss Me quick
Say goodbye
Blood is all
I have to cry
Break My heart
Like Judas did
Go forth, depart
I shan't forbid
But is it salt I taste
Upon your cheek
As I kiss you
And you fail to speak?
Are they tears of regret
Maybe trying to say
' miss You now
I've lost my way'?
You gave it all
To Me to keep
But claimed it back
Oh how I weep
Was the love I
Asked for too great?
Or the faithfulness
Too much to make?
Does betrayal taste sweet
On your tongue, My love?
Or bitter as my blood
Which I shed that night for you?
And is it salt I taste
Upon your cheek
As I kiss you
And you fail to speak
Are they tears of regret
Maybe trying to say
'I miss You now
I've lost my way'?
Or do you cry for self?
For losing worldly wealth
Maybe I wasn't worth it, 'eh child?
I wasn't worth the pain
Or the shame that was to come
With bearing the Name
Well maybe I'm ashamed of you too, brother
And what if I turned the other cheek...?
But does betrayal taste sweet
On your tongue, My love
Or bitter as my blood
Which I shed that night for you?
