I Can Do All Through Christ

Contributed by JesusFreak313 on Saturday, 24th April 2004 @ 07:53:26 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

They said that sin was unavoidable
But God would give me all I'd need
The strength to stand against the power
Of temptation and succeed.
They said no sin was unforgivable
The blood of Christ would wash me clean
They said my debts had been paid for
And they showed me what they'd seen...

A glint of hope in a world of doom
A Light calling in the dead of night
A love that could prevail all that would loom
A chance for the wrong to be made right.
So I followed after what I saw
And the truth I found was so great
The joy I had, much more than before
The love overwhelming the hate.

I can do all through Christ who strengthens me
I can do anything in His Name
I can throw mountains into the sea
To all nations I proclaim
That man's only redeemer is Jesus Christ
He's the King of kings and Lord of lords
He shed His blood, He payed the price
To have your sinful soul restored.

They said that our world was dying
And the devil had gained dominion
But all who turned to Christ would be saved
That's a fact, not mere opinion
They said the time was fast approaching
When the Son of God would reign
He'd throw that serpent into the fire
And set us free from all this pain.

I can do all through Christ who strengthens me
I can do anything in His Name
I can throw mountains into the sea
To all nations I proclaim
That man's only redeemer is Jesus Christ
He's the King of kings and Lord of lords
He shed His blood, He payed the price
To have your sinful soul restored.

So let us praise Him, the Father of our faith
Let us praise Him, and let us walk in His ways
For where else is love found so true?
And how else can we be saved?
Surely He is made perfect in His suffering
For He refused to let us down
His love for us raged like a fire
So let our love be built into His crown.

I can do all through Christ who strengthens me
I can do anything in His Name
I can throw mountains into the sea
To all nations I proclaim
That man's only redeemer is Jesus Christ
He's the King of kings and Lord of lords
He shed His blood, He payed the price
To have your sinful soul restored.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
