Selfish Sickness

My sickness eats away at I
From deep down inside of I
A battle rages on within
Swords clashing in a meld of blood
Each portal, every orifice secluded,
Leaves I stranded, bed bound, nay deluded
I see a pale impersonation
Face bound bloodless to my own
No name in sunken eyes,
Hollow cheeks and marked depression
Moral empathy not for I
Only feelings bed bound lie
Wound up tight like blanket shroud
Frayed emotions, not sick but I
Let I be mine and have my own
For the thousands standing ‘round
Let them burn, let them die
For I, for I.
