Sick Little Rhyme

Contributed by WannaDieCuzImEMO on Thursday, 22nd April 2004 @ 10:48:28 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

One last sick little rhyme
that just helps you take up time
as your wasting breath
trying to clean up your mess
that you left in the night
after your last flight
you pick up the shards of glass
saying "No, no thats in the past"
maybe prick your finger, watch the blood drip on down

last time someone bled in your room
it wasn't you
it was intentional, not coincidential
that it was in your room
on your bed
with the glass from your broken window

she cut fast, and deep enough to bleed
but you know what she needs
so you can feed
on her feelings and emotions
using your little potions
giving her some new chemical
that feels oh, so good
it can even alter you sick mood
just enough to clean up the mess of glass and drugs

she comes, to find you chugging some more
you pass out on the floor
get her worried, but you're not hurried
you'll wake up at your leisure
but that won't please her
she drags you to your bed
crying all the while
where she makes herself red
and passes out in a pile
her arms wrapped around you
in a loving embrace
her head on your shoulder
she's always so much colder
so she snuggles up beside you
your hesitant to return the favor
but you're asleep, and so is she
you'll wake up in four hours,
like you always do
she wakes up after two
she'll cry herself to sleep, a second time

Don't go to sleep angry
she's steaming
she will never understand
why you choose drugs
over her hugs

This is very powerful to me. I saw my parent go through this idea so many times it made it not funny. I really liked this poem. I think it was very well written.
